Stephen Carpenter is a guitarist, songwriter, and founding member of the American alternative metal band, Deftones. Over the years, Carpenter’s guitar style evolved, incorporating elements of DJ scratching, hip-hop, and ambient music. His work with the band has been praised for its intricate, layered textures and complex harmonies. In addition to his work with Deftones, Carpenter has collaborated with a number of other musicians, including Ozzy Osbourne, Cypress Hill, and Sevendust. Voice 1 (Modern Active) is Stephen’s midrange tweak on the original modern Fluence sound, while Voice 2 (Modern Passive Attack) is his custom voicing with some extra heat and edge. You’ll be able to achieve warm and thick tones to powerful, cutting sounds with just a few tweaks of the controls.
