IBANEZ AW90ECE-NT EL/ACOUSTIC
The AW90ECE is an Artwood series acoustic-electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2006. It was produced in China.
The AW90ECE features a dreadnought body shape with a Venetian cutaway constructed of a solid spruce top on walnut back and sides. The round soundhole has a abalone rosette. The mahogany neck joins the body at the 14th fret with a traditional dovetail joint and has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl acrylic spark position markers and a special pearl acrylic inlay at 12th fret. Components include a compensated Ivorex II saddle in a rosewood bridge with white Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, an Ivorex II nut, and gold Smooth Tuner AS machine heads.
Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore under saddle pickup connected to an Ibanez SST preamp with on-board tuner powered by a 9V battery and feeding balanced XLR and ¼” output jacks.
For 2007 the top material was changed Solid engelmann spruce and the back of the body to Cordia.
The AW90 is the acoustic-only version. The AW40ECE is a related model with mahogany back and abalone vine fretboard inlay.
The AW90ECE was discontinued after 2007.
