The Cordial ECOHEMP 3 PP is a 3-meter instrument cable designed by Cordial Cables to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional PVC cables without compromising sound quality. It is notable for its innovative use of natural materials and 100% recyclable components.
Key Sustainability Features:
- Hemp Textile Jacket: The outer fabric jacket is made of 100% natural, GOTS-certified hemp fibers. These fibers are renewable and provide a durable, flexible surface in a matte green/brown “mélange” shade.
- PVC-Free Materials: Cordial has replaced standard PVC with TPE-V (Thermoplastic Elastomer), which is 25% lighter and requires significantly less energy to produce. Unlike PVC, TPE-V is physically cross-linked, making it fully recyclable through heating.
- Eco-Partnerships: For every EcoHemp cable sold, Cordial plants a tree through their partnership with Trees for the Future (TREES).
- Sustainable Packaging: The product tags and packaging are made from fully recycled gray cardboard.
Technical Specifications
The cable is built to high technical standards, often exceeding the specs of standard fabric-wrapped cables:
- Conductor Cross-Section: 0.50 mm² (AWG 21), which is twice the thickness of many conventional fabric cables, ensuring a clear signal.
- Shielding: Double shielding consisting of a copper braided shield and a carbon semiconductor to minimize microphonic effects.
- Connectors: Equipped with high-quality NEUTRIK® 6.35 mm jack plugs featuring a unique “Shabby Chic” patina design.
- Electrical Properties: Conductor resistance is less than 39 /km, and capacitance is approximately 88 pF/m.
